Crew Wars - Personal Experience

Hey Siri

New member
So today was Crew Wars, finally the first PVP we get. As a total competitive newbie CW was super fun but also super chaotic and frustrating. I like the idea, I really love the intention on Crew wars but a few things I don’t like.

1. so first of all I ready through the guide a lot of times but it still did not provide me enough info to really know what’s going on. How does battling work? How do you challenge other players? And how and in which order are battles decided when multipler players are challenging.

2. Not enough battles, we literally didn’t fought for 10 minutes straight and were just waiting in queue to battle, needless to say that a lot of times another team captured the base and we teleported out, you spent so much just to run around, standing around wating and not fighting other players at all.

3. one of the worst things are the stallers who wait the timer out. And if that isn’t enough, when you finally get into a battle and a team captured the base and you get teleported out, you still keep on battling that other players and both get taken hostage even tough you need to rush on site again so you don’t have to wait 10 minutes to fight.

4. The event went 45 minutes and all of our crew members didn’t fight more than 3 times. It’s literally running simulator and elevator simulator combined, you run half the time and the other half you wait.

5. too many players, too much time wasted on waiting in queue and standing around

CW could be super fun when it wasn’t this uninteractive, yea I saw the top crews had over 150 battles but does this really reflect what actually happens for the other 90% who participate?

My suggestion to this would be splitting crew wars, so instead of one big war just make 2 or even 3 wars depending on how many players and crews participate. Everyone would get more action, no endless queue and standing around anymore waiting for your turn or even getting teleported out. With how things are there are so many players it’s impossible to strategize correctly as they would just be swarming in every second and stalling is the best way to defend against swarms. Splitting crew wars into mutiple ones where like only 20 crews fight for supremacy is much better than over 60 crews fighting and swarming for 3 bases and just don’t get to play/battle because there are so many players.

Completely remove the points system of the base. Make capturing the base give a flat amount of points like 10 points flat and double the points the crew get for successfully defending against attackers, meaning for every battle they win and fend of successfully. like this players are forced to actually fight and stalling or taking hostage can’t be a thing anymore. The points they would get by stalling time they would now need to fight for against other players.

That’s my experience with how the crew wars went. We participated in all CW events btw. We reached 31st place with only two players playing, got super lucky that we got a lot of battles but got 33rd with 6 members playing and even successfully capturing base 2 times, this is so strange lol. It was such a dope feeling finally getting into that base with your crew and capturing it, was absolutely phenomenal, but all in all it was so unfun as out of the 45 minutes of the event, we played like 10 minutes of it and the rest was just waiting, running, getting teleported out to run again, getting teleported out during a battle to run again, taken hostage and stalled etc.

I think a lot of ur complains boil down to the fact that your team did not realize they can right click -challenge and instantly battle anybody. There is not instant queu or battle system so it is all on the players to decide how much they want to battle I legit could not move without being challenged, and was fighting at the entrance of the CW most of the time for example.

How do you feel about how many tokens you got? I am of the belief that one of the major issues is how long it will take average players to get real PvP items. I think everything should legit be slashed in 1/2 in terms of value. It is a bit absurd to take 4-6 months for the top crews to get decent items never mind everybody below them.

Once the top crews begin to get PvP items the gap between them and those below only increases which will only exacerbate issues around people not being able to retain there best players and wanting the items. They also currently will have such scarcity even on release that I doubt anybody will be selling them or for any reasonable price. 1 cw ticket is going for around 1k atm which would make a life orb or leftovers valued at 800k. Which is absolutely ridiculous, even 400k each is an insane price to pay for items people will want many of.

Long term I can see them adding more expensive mounts and cosmetics and stuff to keep people saving/using the CW tickets. Having exclusive mounts for like 5k CW tickets would be an awesome way to make people want to save the tickets and also have an excuse for reducing the value of items that are vital to the game itself.

Gating off the most important/valuable( in the sense of utility) with such a huge price tag and time commitment seems like a big mistake, and forces players to have humungous time horizons when building a team. What items do I prioritize getting first will dictate completely the types of teams I will be playing at a high level. If I invest in LO I am locking myself out of playing stall for a bit effectively etc.

Sorry to hijack your thread but it was nice to hear you enjoyed the event as well, I had fun but also see some flaws in the system, I like ur idea of locking the crews into different areas. As in each crew leader should be forced to designate which zone they will be going for and that locks once the crew war begins. So for example before the crew war it will display how many crews are designated to each zone, so people can always even out how many are going to each area. This will thin out the general morass of players in each zone and focus who goes where.

Yea that I didn’t know that you could challenge players by right clicking. We just stood there and waited until we could battle the guy standing on that tile which took like 10 minutes until all the other players were done with their battles.

I have not much experience as you dontea regarding such deep stuff about the game or PvP so I can’t say a lot about it😂 but very insightful. It was just my experience after 2 crew wars event as an average not so profound player.

The masses of players just makes it unfun as it’s literally a constant swarm for the defending crew. Even if players get teleported out after capturing a base there will be 10 players right outside the entrance who are running to the base. The masses of swarms and people stalling makes crew wars kinda stale as only 10 % have constant action whereas the other 90% are just waiting and standing around and get to battle 3-4 times in 45 minutes

Yeah I think prices, and market right now is kind of nuts and I totally agree with your point. Definitely they should take a look into items, but mounts that maybe take a year to get or cosmetics, that is fine for me, since they will be kind of exclusive :)
