A Guide to the Ranked Ladder

General Info

Pokemon Blaze Online currently supports OU ranked & Randoms ranked.
Casual option is disabled, players can click each other to casually challenge players (in CW lobby, the level is set to 100). After clicking each other, select the PVP option, when both players did this, the casual battle starts.

For all available tiers, all Game Rules apply including but not limited to:
  • No intentional feeding allowed.
  • No payment can be given or gained from playing pvp other than the official rewards (listed later in this guide)

All implemented tiers count to the Daily Objectives.

User Interface
To open the PVP interface, you click
960d0f1aab24bcbab1ec91391d3ee5b3.png
top left of your screen.

NOTE: All UI colours & settings can be adjusted in the Game's Settings. Screenshots are using my personal settings.

Tab 1: Search

cf97f2bfb6bb6c439ad064a18c0264fb.png

On this tab:
  • You can change tiers using the dropdown menu on the left.
  • You search for battles (by clicking Ranked button).
  • There's an overview of the clauses.
  • Choose to use one of your Preset PVP Teams (see last tab explanation on how to make those) or by not ticking the box, just use the pokemon you have in party.
    • The UI will check if your preset teams are legal depending on the tier you have chosen.
The Casual button is only working for Doubles OU and Doubles Random. Both those tiers have no Ranked option.

Tab 2: Ratings

98aac686c73d109efc27bf48a7c844a6.png

This shows the ratings of you & the rest of the server.

Standard shows OU Daily, but this can be changed both with the dropdown menu's at the top by Tier and Timing.
  • Daily rank is gained once you completed 10 battles in a day.
  • Weekly rank is gained once you completed 40 battles in a week.
  • Monthly rank is gained once you completed 100 battles in a month.
  • All time rank can be lost by not playing enough matches recently.

Tab 3: Usage Data

4e4651fb24458d808d97732b0c300ba2.png

This shows Usage data of the current month.
You have several options in the dropdown menu:
  • All: lists the usage of all of the below 'tiers' together
  • Ranked: lists the usage data of Ranked pvp, OU, UU & Randoms
  • Crew: lists the usage data of Crew Wars.
  • Standard: lists the usage data of casual battles (clicking each other & battling each other that way).
  • Tournament: currently doesn't show anything.
There's also a search option if you want to compare nature/ability/items for certain pokemon. You can also choose to ignore ability, nature & items to have 1 entry for every pokemon.

NOTE: this screenshot was taken 12th october 2024, the actual pokemon & info on the screenshot can be outdated.

Tab 4: Rewards

2b069788225fe2ebce3eb237f3a4c479.png

The Rewards page shows (surprise surprise) the rewards.

Not just the rank rewards for Daily/Weekly/Monthly ('Rewards Summary'), but also the rewards you can get from the Ranked Reward Ladder (explained later [or just on the above UI image :p ]).

Tab 5: Battle History

ec29970bc5a6a8dcef69ed4d32d1b48b.png

This shows your personal battle history. (for privacy reasons i blurred opponent name on screenshot)

The table is as follows:
ResultOpponentYour TeamOpponent TeamTimeDuration

This list can be changed in several ways, the right drop down menu 'Tiers' is self explanatory.
The left drop down menu 'Battle Type' is as follows:
  • All: shows your previous battles of all ways to play pvp together (for that chosen tier)
  • Ranked: shows your previous battles in the Ranked tier (for that chosen tier).
  • Crew: shows your previous battles in the Crew Wars event (for that chosen tier).
  • Standard: shows your previous battles while having clicked each other.
  • Tournament: shows your previous battles during tournaments (for that chosen tier) (pending to be added).

NOTE: Event forms might not show up on the overview here. Let us know on discord when they don't.

Tab 6: PvP Teams

ea8fbca54d716ff3949c9e3862a5988f.png

An overview of all your made pvp teams.

Here is where you make your teams using pokemon in your storage.
Pokemon in party, in TH or in crew bank are not available & pokemon used in those teams but put in one of the aforementioned things, will be removed from team.

If you click Add Team you get the following UI:
307b9681a1d9a421a8cf795f7d0fa9ff.png

You have Team Name box, where you have to name your team.
You choose the Tier in the middle.
The dropdown menu on the right is your pokemon storage. You can change between your boxes there.

Adding a pokemon is simple, you have to click the pokemon & it's in your team at the bottom. Removing them is done by clicking them at the bottom part.

NOTE: your pokemon needs to be holding an item inside your storage system to have it have an item in battle.

Clicking 'Confirm' creates the team, 'Clear' wipes it entirely.

Tab 7: Bans

1a5eea0db1e0ccd83f825ca550928cfb.png

An alphabetical overview of all bans in every tier. This is the most up-to-date list you'll find for PBO.

Tier is changed at the top.
Category is changed at the left.

Tab 8: Replays

4dd8ad372f189f0d14efb5e28c74d97f.png

Shows the replays for most recent matches & your saved matches below those.

Clicking the Settings button here opens the tiny UI 'Replay Settings' on the screenshot. If not activated, opponents can only watch the match, even after saving. They cannot share the code for others to watch.

6c97cd63cf217c1d38cc89288d5d95cb.png

The saved replays (scrolling down) has more options than just Watch & Save.
  • Share puts a clickable button in in-game chat for others to click & start watching the replay.
  • Copy Code copies the game's code to your Clipboard. Making it easier to share them outside of the game (for example on forum or in discord servers/other social media).
  • Make Public will make them appear in 'Gallery' tab below for everyone to see. Or remove it from there if you click it again ofcourse.
10 free save slots are available to all, if you need/want more, you'll need to buy them for 500 Gems per 5 slots (using that button).

NOTE: Also PvE battles are possible to save & rewatch. (fx: Alder in screenshot)

Tab 9: Gallery

6cd4c6b3cce375ccd2f383368bece9de.png

Saved replays that were made public by players all show up in this Tab.

You can order them in 3 ways: Recent, Most Viewed & Most Liked.
You can like a replay by clicking the heart next to watch on the right.

Tab 10: Spectate

637bbcd75df2bbc9de1ad6f0ea7cdae1.png

Here is every live battle, including wild spawns.

Players can disable or enable any of the possibilities by (un-)checking the settings in this tab. Will open below UI:

Ranked Battle Tokens & Ranked Reward Points

The Ranked Battle Tokens are the currency you need to buy stuff from the PVP Shop located in Oreburgh Sinnoh.
They are gained mainly by playing OverUsed battles, but also a couple can be gained from Daily Objectives (completable with randoms battles).

In any tier, you receive 1 Battle Token per 2 Consecutive Losses.
For wins the reward depends on the tier played:
  • OU: 3 Ranked Battle Tokens per win
  • UU: 2 Ranked Battle Tokens per win
  • Randoms: 1 Ranked Battle Tokens per win
NOTE: if battle ends within 20 seconds, these rewards are not given, as that qualifies as heavily feeding. (this does not mean that all battles longer than 20s can't qualify as feeding).

Reward points visualise your progress in the 'PVP gamepass'.
You receive 1 Reward Point per loss and can gain 10-20 Reward Points with a victory. From all Tiers including Ranked Randoms battles.
This 'PVP gamepass' features gems, generally usefull items & end reward is a legendary chest.
This chest has been several different legendaries already:
Celebi, Hoopa.
It currently rewards the player opening the box with a Jirachi.

See the in-game Rewards page in the PVP UI for the full list of rewards.

Randoms

General Info

Pokemon levels vary to compensate for their BST & overall strength. Example: Yveltal will have a lower level than Ferroseed.
There's literally no requirement for players to play Randoms Ranked.
If you finish a match, your party gets healed. Very usefull to try sneak in a heal during story or pve content without auto heal ;) .
