Natures

The nature of a pokemon changes 2 stats by 10%. It increases 1 (shown green in this game) and decrease another (shown in red in this game)

A table showing all natures and their increased & decreased stats.

From bulbapedia.

Nature is the only thing you can't change in this game, after you have caught a pokemon.

With the outside of battle working synchronize ability, you can have better luck in getting the same nature as your synchronize pokemon.

The boosted chance of getting the same nature depends on the rarity of the pokemon aswell as some other boosts you can get:
Base sync boost:
  • Common - 30% Synchronize
  • Uncommon - 33% Sync
  • Rare - 35% Sync
  • Very Rare - 37% Sync
  • Ultra Rare - 40% Sync
  • Legendary - 50% Sync

You can boost this base sync chance with:

Giving you a total of:
  • Common 50%
  • Uncommon 53%
  • Rare 55%
  • Very Rare 57%
  • Ultra Rare 60%
  • Legendary 70%

When trading pokemon with monthly traders and other npc's like in halloween event, the sync chance will be calculated as Very Rare (so 37% - 57%).

When opening boxes, the rarity will be depending on what box you are opening and what pokemon you are getting. Currently the lowest rarity boxes we have are very rare, the highest are legendary.
The full list of all the boxes & their rarities can be found here.

In spoiler a list of pokemon with the Synchronize ability that are in game already & where to find them.

IV

IV stands for Individual value.
A pokemon's IV can range from 0 to 31.
One IV = one stat point at level 100 (Ba/S on pokemon info card).

You can change IV in this game in 2 ways.
  1. IV Randomizer
    • Randomizes all IVs between 0-31 or for shinies between 15-31
    • Can be gained through:
    • Resets used IV Potions (no refunds)
    • Unlimited use on any pokemon
    • Used by using it as a Revive or similar from Bag
  2. IV Potion
    • Adds 1 IV to 1 stat
    • Can be gained through:
      • The Blaze Coin shop for 20 blaze coins
      • Exchanging unwanted shinies, ultra rare or legendary pokemon in Sandgem lab
      • Dynamax event, rare drop at 100K+ & 500K+ dmg dealt
    • Has limited use depending on rarity:
      • Common: 3
      • Uncommon: 3
      • Rare: 5
      • Very Rare: 7
      • Ultra Rare: 10
      • Legendary: 12
    • Used through the pokemon info card as shown below
  3. IV Toxin
    • Removes 1 IV to 1 stat
    • Can be gained through:
      • Exchanging 2 EV berries in Sandgem House #2
        • 2 Pomeg
        • 2 Kelpsy
        • 2 Qualot
        • 2 Hondew
        • 2 Grepa
        • 2 Tamato
    • Unlimited use on any pokemon & on any stat
    • Used by using it as a Revive or similar from Bag

Using IV Potions:
Click on the pokemon while it's in your team at the top left of your screen.

Change to IV tab on the right to get:

9452d6694532872eec5524aaef6094c2.png

Highlighted by the red rectangle, shows how many IV potions you can still use on the pokemon & how many IV potions you have in your bag.
By actually clicking one of the IVs on this screen, you'll be adding the IV potions. Will prompt a confirmation screen ofcourse.

Using IV Randomizers:
IV randomizers are used like a revive from the bag. You open bag bottom left, go to the potions tab & click the IVR icon (once you have one in bag).
da58dbdc7a34b3e861a5efa42cbece3c.png

This will open a panel where you can choose 1 of the pokemon in your party on which you will be using the IVR after.

a0cebf97e4e35a35e3f16fcaf2717541.png

After using an IVR you can choose to keep the old IV or change to the new ones as shown in image below

2636bbccac8678a7384376a5a321e541.png

No matter what choice you make (keep or change) the IVR is used up already, you wont keep it.
[SYS] Removed 1 IV Randomizer from bag. Now in total 43.

IV Pity System:
This feature was added march 2024.

After using a certain amount of IVR on a single pokemon, the minimum IV for new IVR rolls raises. The amount of IVR used on pokemon is also shown on the pokemon info panel.

The amounts are as following table:
IVRs usedMinimum IV
105
2010
3015
Shinies & Alpha's only:
4020

Since shinies & alpha's already have a minimum of 15 IV, they get extra IV pity row as shown above.

NOTE: Alpha's also have 2x 31 IV assured also with every rerol.

EV

EV is short for Effort Value.
All pokemon yield the same kind & number of EVs as other regular Pokémon games. You can check the Sinnoh, Jvaloh and Hoenn spawnguides to check EV gains for fainting a pokemon. This will also be shown for event spawns in their guides.

After defeating a pokemon, EVs can be chosen to not be automatically "allocated" in this game (pop up when first gaining EV & option in settings). They then instead get added as "unallocated" EVs (U/EVs).
Players can allocate EVs from the unallocated pool with the slider on the pokemon dialog EV screen.

14192b58f1de59cb23ef79778b958a85.png

The maximum number of total allocated EVs is 510.
The maximum number of allocated and unallocated EVs for a particular stat is 252.
The maximum number of allocated and unallocated EVs overall is 756.

Once EVs are invested, they cannot be changed without using special items.

Resetting and Modifying EVs

1. Unallocated EV Reset
  • Removes all unallocated EVs from a pokemon
  • Can be gained through:
  • Can be sold in Sandgem mart for 2.5K f

2. Full EV Reset

Training EVs

As explained earlier, EV's can be gained by fainting wild pokemon, each giving their own EV yield.

But this can also be increased/modified by using held items.

1. Exp. Share & Macho Brace

The Exp. Shares from the shops (Blaze Coin & Dynite Ore), give the EV gained by the first pokemon in team to the first Exp. Share holding pokemon in the team.

Example:
  1. 1st slot pokemon Toucannon faints a Bidoof => Toucannon gets 100% Experience +1 (unallocated) HP EV.

  2. 2nd slot pokemon Trumbeak gets nothing

  3. 3rd slot pokemon Pikipek holding an Untradable Exp. Share (gained early in Sinnoh story & potentially more places) gets 50% Experience + no EV.

  4. 4th slot pokemon Arceus holding an Exp. Share (gained from shops/trading) gets 50% Experience + 1 (unallocated) HP EV.

  5. 5th slot pokemon Giratina holding an Exp. Share (gained from shops/trading) gets 50% Experience + no EV.

The Macho Brace is gained only through the Dynite Ore Shop. It is to be equipped by the first pokemon in party & doubles the gained EV from fainting the pokemon. It also halves your pokemon's speed while holding the Macho Brace (so during the training).

Implemented in above example, it would mean that:

  1. the 1st slot pokemon Toucannon gets 100% Experience + 2 (unallocated) HP EV

  2. The 4th slot pokemon Arceus will still get 50% Experience & only 1 (unallocated) HP EV

  3. The other pokemon also have no change.

2. Power Items

For me, the best way to EV training is using these held items. They give 8(!) EV of their specific yield when fainting wild pokemon with the pokemon holding this item. They also half your pokemon's speed while holding the power item (so during the training).

They are gained through the Daycare Shop, costing 200 Daycare Coins.

3. Fused Exp. Shares
Kanto has a couple Engineer wizards in the local Daycare. They can create several special exp shares, some of which effect EV gain.

This is fully explained in this guide. (SoonTM)

PP Up
f9e20d6aa6ed5fd32e9123859ec11a13.png

PP Up is not included in the earlier vitamin overview since it is gained differently, used differently and can't be sold to reseller:

  • Boosts the pp of a move
  • Can be gained through:
  • Cannot be sold in Sandgem mart
  • Can use up to 3 PP up's per move OR 1 PP Max
    9599bff8fd2981f7211eb4eb34143c7b.png
  • Used through the pokemon info card as shown below

Using PP Ups:
Click on the pokemon while it's in your team at the top left of your screen.

52f73c895a92ff1fdf608f103d570789.png

Change to Moves tab on the right to get:

0c4a21163953a80d7175fea901d64cac.png

After clicking the pp up icon on the right, you can choose which move slot to give the pp boost.
I say move slot because with the Pokemon skill Move Bank, you can change moves by clicking them in this very same screen.
If I'd put a pp up in moveslot for bullet seed and changed bullet seed to roost later:

a3a91bcb1ff5602d0ff758f6403169b2.png

Roost would have the boosted pp.

Abilities

Pokemon always have 1 ability.

Some (mostly legendaries) only have 1 ability available (eg. Keldeo always has Justified).
Most pokemon however have more than 1 ability possible: 1 or 2 regular abilities and a hidden ability (HA).

74accf2624c8d9087574b8a078b90f8d.png

Picture showing all possible abilities for Toucannon from the ingame pokedex.

Hunting:

Wild pokemon have 10% chance of having their hidden ability. The other 90% is the regular abilities (45/45 when 2 regular abilities).

The ability Trace can show a player what ability a wild pokemon. Very useful if you want to only catch a certain ability.
Other than sync for natures, trace does not have to be first in slot, as it is a in battle effect, not an outside of battle effect.
Below a list of all pokemon with trace as possible ability and how to get them.
