Overview

Related Player made guides:
1) 2021 guide from myself (i was just a player back then) on how to start building a team (the theory & ai behind dynamax)
2) Guide from ggBr sharing movesets of the sinnoh dynamaxes (other ones werent released back then) in portuguese
3) Guide from billybobwell, sharing the very high damage dealing teams shared in a public discord (the discord is created by Gotei crew)

General info

The following is true for both modes. includes the actual battle, Dynahax Ability, ...

What?

Dynamax (Invasion) is a server wide event, where the community has an hour to work together to faint 1, 2 or 3 dynamaxed pokemon with each a minimum of 2.6M hp (depends on players online). The remaining hp is visible on the HP bar above their heads.

The actual battle

The invading dynamaxed pokemon:
  • Are Level 85
  • Have a non neutral nature
  • Don't have their stats boosted, BUT have 252 EV's in every stat
  • Have unlimited PP
  • Have 4 moves + Haze (so 5 moves total)
  • Have the 'Dynahax' ability
This Dynahax ability makes the invading pokemon have the following things:
  • Immunity to all ability neutralizing effects (including but not limited to Mold Breaker, Neutralizing Gas, Entrainment).
  • Immune to everything regarding %hp damage. (including but not limited to Endeavor, Super Fang, Destiny Bond, Leech Seed, Whirlpool, ...) (eg hail & sandstorm won't damage the dynamax pokemon, other effects apply) (Iron barbs/Rough skin ability/rocky helmet will be ignored)
  • Immune to all status like poison, burn, paralyzed etc.
  • Drain Moves (such as drain punch, giga drain, draining kiss, ...) won't heal your pokemon when used against the dynamaxed pokemon. This includes the held item Shell Bell.
  • Items can't be switched with trick/switcheroo/... (they can be knocked off)
  • Moves that make the dynamax lose freedom of choosing next move do not work (eg Taunt, Encore, Torment, Grudge, ...)
  • Moves that change the dynamax power or typing (like Soak, Speed Swap, Power Trick, ...)

There are a couple player made guides on Dynamax including a portuguese one that includes movesets etc and a short one on how to start building a strong dynamax team & a more extensive one here which includes actual very high dmg dealing teams.

There are also some moves that are fully banned/unusable in the fight.
  • Baton Pass
  • Destiny Bond
  • Grudge
  • Power Trick
  • Skill Swap
  • Dragon Cheer
Baton Pass
Move is banned due to possibility of transferring boosts to stronger pokemon
Destiny Bond
Move is banned due to it targeting your own pokemon but dealing %hp on the attacking dynamax. So theoretically the Ability Dynahax doesn't stop it (but it should).
Grudge
Move is banned due to it targeting your own pokemon but taking away PP on the attacking dynamax. So theoretically the Ability Dynahax doesn't stop it (but it should).
Power Trick
Move is banned due to too high scaling possibilities when using it on your ally. (looking at you huge power medicham [and machamp/aegislash/forretress/gliscor]

Skill Swap
Move is banned due to too high scaling possibilities when using it on your ally. (looking at you huge power medicham // flash fire scizors // ...)

Dragon Cheer
This move could, when used in a certain combination, lead to a ridiculous base damage, forcing everyone to use that single strat against all dynamaxes (and getting highest damage).

Rewards

Rewards will be given out at the end of the hour or when all dynamax are fainted.

The rewards are based on your damage.
5k is the minimum amount needed to receive a prize. If you do less than 5k you do not receive a prize.

If all dynamaxes are fainted you get the tokens listed below. If the Dynamaxes are not all fainted in time, the amount of ores will be halved.

  • 2.5k to 15k receive 10 ores
  • 15k to 30k receive 20 ores
  • 30k to 55k receive 40 ores
  • 55k to 100k receive 50 ores
  • 100k to 300k receive 70 ores
  • 300k to 500k receive 90 ores
  • 500k to 750k receive 110 ores
  • 750k to 1million revive 130 ores
  • 1million and up receive 150 ores
  • After 1M dmg, every 100K extra damage will give 10 more Ores.

If all Dynamaxes are fainted you also get one of the items from the following damage tiers. NOTE: You get one from every tier you reached.

*These can be sold in Sandgem pokemart.

You get 1 item from each tier you reached. Example: if the player dealt 500K+ dmg, he'll get 1 pull from Tier 1, 2, 3 & 4.

The Dynamax Ore Trader is located in the Global Terminal in Jubilife City (two buildings to the left of the Jubilife pokecenter) or in the Veilstone Trade Hub.
