Champions of PBO

These formidable NPC's deserve their own topic & not just another part in the PvE guide.

Introduction

Some NPC's are always stronger than others. Champions however, are the best of the best. I'm not talking about puny trainers at the end of elite 4's. I'm talking about real hardened by experience trainers, who will challenge anyone they deem worthy.


General info

All champions have specific information I will be listing in a table under the next subtitle. Here is the general info which is the same for all champions.

• NPC trainer with 6 pokemon (3 different teams possible per champion)
• Have Mewtwo symbol in front of their name
• Challengeable in 3 difficulties, easy, medium & hard
  • 
  • Easy has pokemon at level 70 that don't have held items & potions are allowed from the player
  • Medium has pokemon at level 85 that are holding items
  • Hard has pokemon at level 120 that are holding high end PVP items and have extra EV's:
    • 400 HP EV
    • 252 EV in all other stats
• They are reset weekly on midnight sunday -> monday server time (UTC +0). Talking with them after winning will show the cooldown:

  • Cash (7.5K on easy, 10K on medium & 20K on hard)
  • Blaze coins (3 on easy, 5 on medium & 10 on hard)
  • An item (possibilities listed below)
• Have special requirements (listed per champion below)

Professor Rowan

The professor sending us on our first adventure may be old, but he is still a good trainer.

Location:
Sitting in your home town, discussing with your neighbour Merissa, Professor Rowan is waiting for you to challenge him in the top right house of Twinleaf Town.
Closest teleport available is Sandgem Town.

Requirements:
He'll only allow challenges if you are Sinnoh Champion. [After talking with Rowan at E4 lobby]
Players rushing through might also need to get some extra 'Caught' dex entries. As he wants to only face players with knowledge of atleast 300 pokemon. [300 cauht dex required, checkable through your Trainer Card bottom left]

Barry

Our very first rival is back to stomp us one more time (weekly ).

Location:
Barry prefers to stay close to the top brass. So he likes to chill in the Sinnoh E4 League lobby.
Closest teleport available is Sinnoh League Pokecenter.

Requirements:
Being proud of his homeregion, Barry only accepts challengers with a Sinnoh starter in team (Infernape/Empleon/Torterra). This doesn't have to be your actual 20 iv starter, it can be a wild catch with better stats.
He will only see you as a possible contender if you have discovered the secret behind Stark Mountain. [Cleared the heatran questline]

Dawn

Our most helpful companion & best girl wants to test if she really can't teach us anything anymore.

Location:
Dawn wanted some distance between her & Professor Rowan now that he's ready to mingle. Therefore, we can find her in the Fight Area Pokecenter.
Closest teleport available is Canalave Town, from there, you need to take the boat to fight area.

Requirements:
Like Barry, Dawn is proud of her homeregion, she also only accepts challengers with a Sinnoh starter in team (Infernape/Empleon/Torterra). This doesn't have to be your actual 20 iv starter, it can be a wild catch with better stats.
She will only be ready to fight you after you have become the Sinnoh Champion.

Heatran

The first catchable legendary (wild encounter at least) is a special one. Honing his skills in Mt. Stark, he trained some friends to challenge you.

Location:
Heatran is king of the mountain. Therefore he won't be convinced to leave his throne just to be able to battle some puny humans. Stark Mountain Hidden is where he was, is and always will be.
Closest teleport available is Canalave Town, from there, you need to take the boat to fight area.
Hiking through entire fight area going north & venturing inside Mt. Stark is not for the faint of heart.

Requirements:
Heatran won't accept challengers who don't appreciate him. So you have to have heatran in your team when challenging him.
This evidently also means you have to have the heatran questline completed.

Cynthia

Sinnoh's own champion of the Elite 4.
She send us on an errand to her own mom, she dumped her dog with us & always acts surprised when we cleaned up the mess (looking at you Cynthia, waiting on Spear Pillar while the world is crumbling by Cyrus/Giratina's doing).
Yet she still can't get over losing to us at the Elite 4, so she went & activated her final form.

Location:
Cynthia loves her garchomp and any dragon really. So much so she decided to take up residence where gibles are found naturally. In Wayward Cave B2F, she's waiting near the top right corner for a new battle with worthy opponents.
Closest teleports are Eterna City (north of bike bridge) or Oreburgh City (south of bike bridge).

Requirements:
Being the dragon lover she is, Cynthia requires you to have atleast 1 of the following in your team: Garchomp, Salamence, Dragonite.
Not only does she force you to use a very strong dragon type, her new residence after beating her & becoming Sinnoh Champion, also forces the player to have 100 caught dex. Wasaru won't let you enter if you don't have enough unique caught pokemon.

Cyrus

Being the boss of a criminal organisation is never fun in the pokemon world. Yes you have the upside of there just being officer Jenny in the police force, but the amount of kids stomping the grunts like they are nothing can get tiresome.
Cyrus however keeps a light mood on that. As all he cares about is shinies.

Location:
Staying in his cleared out headquarters, Cyrus always has time to challenge shiny hunters. His office is found on Veilstone Galactic H.Q. 4F 1. (take the right door )
Closest teleport is Veilstone City.

Requirements:
Cyrus doesn't care about generic pokemon. He prefers shinies. Not only do you have to have a shiny in your team, you also need to have caught 15 shinies yourself before Cyrus will give you a chance to battle him again.
He also wont accept challenges from people who didn't become Sinnoh Champion.

Saturn

One of Team Galactic's Commanders, Saturn is a formidable trainer known for his toxicroak & being the leader of the group bombing Lake Valor.

Location:
After miraculous restorations, Lake Valor is again good as new. Saturn decided to contemplate what the future holds for him right there in front of the cave entrance.
Closest teleport available is Route 113.

Requirements:
Saturn prefers people who like to train their pokemon against the same people over and over. Therefore, he requires players to have their VS. Seeker at level 7 or up. Being the Sinnoh champion is also needed for Saturn to even consider battling you.

Jupiter

Similar to Saturn, one of Team Galactic's other Commanders Jupiter is found at the lake she tried to steal the guardian from (Lake Acuity). She and her Skuntank will await any Sinnoh Champion to challenge her.

Location:
Lake Acuity is found near Snowpoint City. You go to the left out of Snowpoint & keep going untill you reach the rock climb tiles where you go up.

Requirements:
Jupiter prefers the Fight Area, unlocked after becoming Sinnoh Champion, this part of Sinnoh houses the Battle Tower. Jupiter only accepts challenges from people who reached level 120 or up atleast once in their Trainer career.

Mars

The last one of Team Galactic's Commanders, Mars does not mind some kidnapping windwork engineers to try get their goal. What she lacks in morals, she makes up for in Pokemon knowledge.

Location:
All the commanders love their prime crime spot. So Mars also returned to the lake where he stole the lake guardian. For him, this is lake verity.
Closest teleport available is Sandgem Town.

Requirements:
Due to her high pokemon knowledge, she knows how to fight a fight the most effective way. She won't accept challenges from people who have less than 1million total Dynamax damage (total, so not in a single dynamax event).
