Bug Catching Contest
What?
A 30 minute event in which players catch 50 bug pokemon with competition balls on the map 'Spring Valley' to get the highest score they can.
You can reach Spring Valley via any teleporter NPC. 50 f per teleport (37 f if you have activated membership).
Competition balls are bought in the shop booth at Spring Valley and cost 5 f each.
When?
It's held every week at the following times (in UTC/server time):
The actual event
Other than the fishing contest, the score for every bug pokemon isn't purely RNG. Their score is based on:
Example:
A level 10 full hp Pinsir (VR) caught with first try with okay IVs will fetch around 1000 points.
Where a level 1 Weedle (C) will only give around 50 points.
So be smart with your 50 catches if you want a high ending score.
During the event, Larvesta (UR) becomes encounterable on Spring Valley.
There is an in game leaderboard with live updates showing your current score and ranking + the entire top 30. You can view this by clicking the bug competition icon top right of your screen:

Bug Catcher Chest contains one of these pokemon (33.33...% each): Larvesta, Venipede, Blipbug
The possible TM/TR is one of the following (16.66...% each): Leech Life, Megahorn, X-Scissor, Pollen Puff, Pin Missile, U-Turn
Possible Evolution Stone is one of the following (33.33...% each): Leaf Stone, Sun Stone, Dusk Stone
You'll only receive the reward for the highest rank you achieved.

- Used competition balls (the fewer used, the better score)
