Fight Area
Home of Heatran, Battle Frontier, Battle Tower and 2 Champions.
To reach this area, you must take a ship (talk to sailor) from Canalave & choose Fight Area (not Iron Island).
Heatran
You are sent here after beating Sinnoh's E4 & Champion. While following the tracked quests for story, you already helped out Buck protecting Heatran from Team Galaxy.
To unlock Heatran as a Roaming legendary, all you have to do is go all the way up north in Mt. Stark Inner (where you received the Magma Block which you returned to Buck) & beat Heatran Level 120.
This heatran is not catchable and pretty strong if you don't have an earthquake user or very strong fighting type pokemon in party.
After defeating the Heatran, it will be catchable for you. His location is tracked via the Roaming Legend Tracker, which is one of the icons top right of your UI.
Battle Frontier
What?
A weekly 3v3 objective where you have to battle 100 apprentices & 5 bosses to gain a maximum of 200 Battle Tokens.
When?
You can play it whenever you like. The weekly reset happens Sunday to Monday midnight UTC.
Where?
The Battle Frontier is located in Fight Area. You take the boat in Canalave to Fight area, then enter the building to the right of the Pokecenter.
You enter a giant plaza with at the top end the Battle Frontier and to the right the Battle Tower (more info in later part of this forum post).
The actual event
Once you enter the building Battle Frontier Lobby (see Where?), you'll see 3 NPC's and a working PC (box system).
Nurse Joy functions as a healer and respawn spot, the middle one (full name the battle frontier teleporter) lets you enter the event, the right-most NPC is the Shop where you can spend your Battle Tokens.
We talk to the teleporter and we enter the following map:

The Apprentice is the NPC you need to win from 20 times in a row. After those 20 wins, you gain 10 battle tokens and you are allowed to battle the boss. There is auto heal after every fight you win.
The PC you see here also works. Note: sometimes only when talking from frontview.
Battling is only allowed when you are holding 3 pokemon (any level) with which you haven't won vs a Battle Frontier Boss this week.
Pokemon Species are no longer usable in the Battle Frontier when used versus one of the Battle Frontier Bosses.
The following clauses apply to fighting the apprentices (and bosses):
The difficulty increases with every level. Level 1 will have regular pokemon level 70 (75 for boss) and that increases up to legendary pokemon level 100 for level 5. So plan ahead before battling the first boss.
Tip: you can lose versus the boss without having to rebattle the apprentice before you can rechallenge the boss

Rewards
Beating the apprentice 20 times in a row gives 10 Battle Tokens (regardless of level).
Beating the boss will give (10 * boss level). Eg beating level 4 boss will give 40 Battle Tokens.
This adds up to a maximum of 200 Battle Tokens per week.
These tokens are used in the battle token shop.
Battle Tower
What?
A daily 3v3 objective where you can battle an NPC infinite times (with ever increasing difficulty).
When?
You can play it whenever you like. The daily reset happens every midnight UTC.
Where?
The Battle Tower is located in Fight Area. You take the boat in Canalave to Fight area, then enter the building to the right of the Pokecenter.
You enter a giant plaza with to the right the Battle Tower and at the top end the Battle Frontier (more info in earlier part of this forum post).
The actual event
Once you enter the building Battle Frontier Lobby (see Where?), you'll see a couple NPC's, but most importantly, Nurse Joy (healer & respawn after you lost, if you talked with her) and the passage way to the actual event.
The Shop is located at the Battle Frontier Lobby.
We go through the passage way and get on this map:
A PC (box system) and a Battle Tower Master greet you.
Battling is only allowed when you are holding 3 pokemon (any level). Other than Battle Frontier, there's no way of getting pokemon locked, since there are no bosses here.
The following clauses apply to fighting the apprentices (and bosses):
There's a leaderboard for highest streak of the day visible in the top right while you are on the event map:
The difficulty increases with every 20th time you beat the npc.
The level of pokemon for the Tower Master starts on 50 and increases with 10 every 20 battles, the strength of his pokemon itself also increases over the levels (regular pokemon up to legendary pokemons in higher). This keeps going until you hit level 100 pokemon for the Tower Master (100 tower streak). From that moment on, the level will increase with 1 every 10 battles.*
You lose your streak when you lose a match. You can rebattle on the same day, but will not gain the rewards you gained on your best attempt again. (eg you lose on 46th level, you won't get rewards for 10-->40)

Rewards
Every 10th win gives you battle tokens = level/10.
So level 10 gives 1 Battle Token, level 20 gives 2 Battle Tokens, etcetera etcetera.
Reaching level 100 will give you 55 Battle Tokens total.
