Crews are an important part of the feel of an MMO. Some games call them alliances, others call them clans, we call them crews.

How to create/join a crew?

To join a crew, you need to have 1 badge & 'simply' get invited to a crew.
You can ask in global/language chats in game if there's any crew recruiting or check in the official discord in #crew-recruitment.

To create a crew, you need:
  • To click the crew UI button bottom left
  • To have 3 badges
  • 10K F

There are some rules in crew names, similar to player names; no spacebar, no rule breaking names, ...

Benefits

There are several advantages of being in a crew:
  • Your own crew chat (see chat guide on how to make it visible ingame)
  • Acces to Crew Wars (see next topic)
  • Acces to the crew skills (explained below)

Crew skills

Every crew starts at level 0 and can be leveled up (current level cap is 39). With every level up, 3 skill points become available to spend on crew skills.
All skills require a certain amount of skill points and can have level requirements aswell (Example: tp to cw lobby is only available to unlock for lvl 10 or up crews, despite being only 2 skill points in cost).

Table of all crew skills (currently implemented):

Other unmentioned skills are not yet implemented.

This is how the UI looks like in game for the crew skills (second tab of the crew UI):

How do you level up the crew?

All crew members automatically gain experience contributing towards the crew level from defeating wild pokemon.
You can even see how much experience a player has contributed by hovering over the player in the first tab of crew overview (among other info):

Encircled in red, you see the crew icon. This will function like a banner in the crew wars scoreboard and as a flag next to your crewmates names:

This can be changed by everyone in crew by clicking the icon.

Crew shop / Premium icons are not yet implemented.

The Teleport to CW button is unlocked by Crew Skills explained above. It's extremely useful to get around PBO. However, will get you soft locked when used at some rare points during story. When this happens, make a ticket in the discord and ask for moderator help. (As far as I know, only after 6th gym getting the strength hm & tp out of iron island.)

Red rectangle: Announcements, custom text made by the leader, can be edited by everyone.
Blue rectangle: Shows whether players are online (green) or offline (red).
Red circles: Shows Leader (gold crown) & Commanders (silver crown).

Commanders can invite players, kick grunts (members who are not commander/leader), edit rights of grunts.

Red rectangle: Logs, opens UI showing all the logs of inviting, kicking, changing rights & changing the crew icon.
Blue rectangle: Invite, opens UI where commanders / leader can send invite to players who are online at that time (ofcourse only if the crew isn't full).
Purple rectangle: Shows current crewmembers/max possible crewmembers.

We have already seen what is visible when hovering over crewmembers, commanders/leaders can also click members & see the following UI to adjust rights & roles or to kick players out:

Red rectangle: Logs, opens UI showing all the logs of withdrawing/depositing pokemon/items/money
Blue rectangle: drop down list, makes you able to switch between item bank & pokemon bank
Purple rectangle: the money bank overview
Withdraw UI pops up after clicking the pokemon/item you want to withdraw (for pokemon, you need a free spot in team).

Important note: Any and all deposits of items/money/pokemon at crewbank is at your own risk. Any loss of items or money 'stolen' by players are lost & won't be refunded or interfered by the moderating team. Giving rights for the bank should be chosen carefully & only to trusted members. However report tickets can always be made in the official pbo discord.

4th & 5th tab: Not implemented yet

Not sure why they are here.

Crew Wars (cw)
312cc6536f505b5165c9d01f6b44ffb4.png

A timed event that occurs 7 times a week, where 20 players form each crew can test their mettle against each other.

We have 2 different modes: Capture the Base & Hard Point Mode.
We also have 2 different Tiers: Overused & Underused.

When?

The event happens at these following times & will run for 45 minutes.
Top right bar has an events icon where you can see how long it takes until the next crew war event (and other events).

TimeTier
Monday @ 16:00 UTCUnderUsed
Wednesday @ 10:00 UTCUnderUsed
Wednesday @ 20:00 UTCOverUsed
Thursday @ 20:00 UTCUnderUsed
Saturday @ 03:00 UTCOverUsed
Sunday @ 01:00 UTCOverUsed
Sunday @ 18:00 UTCOverUsed

The maps won't be open outside of these times.

Where?

The event occurs on the crew war maps. You can get to those maps from the crew war lobby. You have to use the teleport NPC from hearthome which has an option to teleport to the cw lobby for 1 f. Alternatively, your crew can have the Teleport to cw lobby button activated through the crew skills.

Located in Sinnoh region, this crew war lobby has a free to use ATM, a pokemon storage system, a healer and a teleporter NPC (to go back to the regions).
Testing teams is easily done here aswell, as casual battles against each other by clicking each other will autoscale your level to 100 (just like during the actual crew wars & PVP).

This player made guide has full screenshots of the 3 maps available, top left exit of the cw lobby leading to the map with Dialga as boss pokemon, top right exit leads to the map where Giratina is the boss & the bottom exit leads to Palkia's area.
You can also see where the aroma lady's are who heal anyone talking to them (if your crew has the crew skill unlocked for them).
Note: no auto-heal in between battles for defender, this to make defending harder. Attacking players will always be auto healed after a battle.

The actual event

As mentioned before, 2 modes are available right now, other modes might come in the future.

The goal for both modes is to have the most points as crew at the end of the 45 minutes.

7378fd9debbbeebef958727764239661.png
All 2 modes are PVP based, as you will fight people from other crews with the same rules as in the Tier of that Crew War (see When? above) in our game (although with a lower total timer of 4 minutes & only 20 seconds per move allowed, visible on the battle screen).
Losing a match will warp you back to your last pokecenter heal (also counting the healer in the cw lobby as a pokecenter).

To battle other players (they will all show name as 'missing') you have to click them & choose battle (like you would if battling casually outside of the maps).

However, holding the base is part of both modes aswel (more so for 1 than the other). This base is either Palkia/Giratina/Dialga NPC which can get boosted HP EV's through crew skills.

There will be special blocking tiles on the map looking like this:
309ea68406fa3ee7d859c24568e1592f.png

Only 1 player can stand on this tile & when there's a player on it, other players can no longer pass through this player. This is how defending crews can defend their base. The player on the tile has to lose or move from the tile before other players can pass.

The fight versus the boss is different from fighting other players. Your pokemon won't scale up to level 100, instead the boss will scale it's level to your highest level pokemon.

Once a base is captured by a crew, all players from other crews get warped back to the last pokecenter they healed (also counting the healer in the cw lobby as a pokecenter) & players from the crew capturing the base get warped to the base. This won't end the battles they are fighting versus other players at the time of capture (will end the battle versus the boss). This warp also won't heal you, you'll have to walk back up to the healer if you need healing.

The actual modes will be explained below.

TLDR:
PVP while defending/attacking base accumulating points for your crew by either winning battles or holding the base.

Auto Heal

Attackers (players not from the crew holding the base) will have their team healed after every PvP victory. A loss warps them back to their last heal spot.
Defenders will not & will require the healing NPC's or heal items (hence the teleport to base on capture).

Rules
  1. Win trading is not allowed & can result in a crew war ban. You have to try to win your matches.

  2. Base trading is not allowed & can result in a crew war ban for all members of the crews involved.

  3. So called 'secondary crews' are allowed to enter crew wars. Assuming they adhere to the rules above. (so they can't take base from each other, since this can be easily made into a strategy to trade base once defence is crumbling)

Rewards

Scoreboard ingame:
5ab0aec2a6eaa7ccbdbe50e6ec32c926.png

After the 45 minutes, the rewards will be given to any crew member who finished at least 1 PVP battle.

Rewards are rank based:
  • 1st: 200 cw tokens
  • 2nd: 140 cw tokens
  • 3rd: 120 cw tokens
  • 4th: 110 cw tokens
  • 5th-10th: 100 cw tokens
  • participation= 50 cw tokens.
Crews must have at least 10 points in order to receive a rank reward other than Participation.

In addition, every player will get a single crew war token for every pvp battle they win (awarded right after winning the match) and 5 CW tokens when capturing a base.

Tokens can be exchanged in the crew war shop located in Hearthome.

Clauses & bans

The clauses & bans are depending on the tiers & can be found on the PvP guide.

Mode comparison

Capture the Base mode

As said in the general info, Crew Wars exists of 2 parts: PvP & a base.

First game mode focusses more on the base & defending/attacking that base.
  • 2 Points per minute base is in your crew's possession
  • PvP is disabled on all maps that are not active
  • The active base is the same one for the entire 45 minutes.
  • Every PvP win gives 1 point.
  • Capturing the base gives 3 points & 5 CW points

Hard Point mode

Instead of focusing on defending the base in Capture the Base, this mode promotes PvP more than just holding the base.
  • 2 Points per minute base is in your crew's possession
  • PvP is disabled on all maps that are not active
  • Every 11 Minutes, the active Base changes location (between Giratina-Palkia-Dialga).
  • If your crew is holding the base, points per win = 3; if not, points per win = 1
  • Capturing the base gives 3 points & 5 CW points

Invictus Isle

A series of maps, available only to the winners of the previous Crew Wars.

A crew winning a crew wars will gain control of this isle untill the next Crew Wars start.

Overview

We are keeping it a secret as long as possible for people to be able to explore when their crew wins. Some details have already emerged in several ways, so listing those public ones here:

  • An exclusive Mining Site (as seen in everyone's Mining Toolpad)
  • An exclusive Champion (as seen in the patchnotes & the champions command)
  • An exclusive area with catchable spawns (some not available anywhere else, similar to Celestial Peak).
There is more, so be sure to fight for first place!

Eclipse Hollows

The exclusive hunting area on Invictus Isle has been broken into. The two exclusive spawns are:
